More amazing people in to work on the Stompin Tom From The Vault 3 cd project . First we had Jason Parsons ( the Human Kabab) from USS . He did a very creative take on the song Truck Drivin Man . Next we recorded Natalie McMaster and her Husband Donnell Leahey . They did some fine fiddle work on Toms song Skinners Pond Jig .
Later that week The Sheepdogs spent a day in the studio working on the song Hang the Key on the Bunkhouse Door .
This version turned out Great . Also on the project is a version of I'm so Lonesome I could Cry by Washboard Union .
5 of the songs were recorded and mixed mixed by Brian Hewson , along with 8 solo pieces recorded back in 2011 with Tom and Brian

Brian has just finished assembling the newest Stompin Tom Connors CD and sent it out to Universal to be released.
The CD has 17 tracks , 12 of them are new tracks that Tom and Brian recorded shortly before his death with just him and his guitar. And the other 5 are great tracks from his older CD's .
The CD is titled , "Stompin' Tom Unreleased Songs From the Vault Volume #2 " . This is the second of 10 CD's that will be released over the years .

Winners of the GAIN MUSIC BATTLE OF THE BANDS Common Deer were in this week . The band which used to be called The Howling won the contest out of 12 bands . A big part of the 1st prize was a full day of studio time at Escarpment Sound Studio , which they used to its full potential and got some great tracks . Local band Rodium was in for a day doing some cover tunes for a demo , I think it was Brian's record for recording the most tunes in a day, They did 17 songs recorded live off the floor and mixes and editing and Cd's in there hands in seven hours !!!!

Brian has just put the finishing touches on the new Stompin Tom Connors CD and sent it out to Universal to be released.
The CD has 17 tracks , 12 of them are new tracks that Tom and Brian recorded shortly before his death with just him and his guitar. And the other 5 are rare tracks from his older CD's .
The CD is titled , "Stompin' Tom Unreleased Songs From the Vault Volume #1 " . This is the first of 10 CD's that will be released over the years . For his many fans this will be a treat .

It is with great sadness that I let you all know I have lost a good friend and musical colleague , Stompin Tom Connors .
Tom and I have recorded together for about 25 years and have done 10 CD projects and also just finished a 5 CD set
of 120 of his favorite songs he grew up with ,which is unreleased . Tom was a great man who loved Canada and loved to sing about it . He will be missed by everyone
